The Neurodivergent Nest

A space for neurodivergent community.

I've always wanted a cosy corner of the internet for neurodivergent adults.

Not another productivity group.

Not another place telling us how to optimise our lives, fix our habits or become better versions of ourselves.

Just somewhere we could be.

A place to talk about special interests. To share the books, films, hobbies and rabbit holes we love. To find support when life feels hard. To celebrate wins when things go well. To make friends. To feel understood.

So I built one.

It's called The Neurodivergent Nest.

Why a Nest?

The idea of a nest felt right from the beginning.

A nest is somewhere you return to. Somewhere safe. Somewhere that offers shelter, comfort and rest before you head back out into the world.

Many of us neurodivergent folk spend a huge amount of energy adapting to environments that weren't designed with us in mind. We mask. We accommodate others. We navigate systems that can be exhausting, confusing and overwhelming.

Sometimes we need somewhere we don't have to do that.

The Neurodivergent Nest is my attempt to create a space where people can show up as they are.

No pressure to perform.

No pressure to have all the answers.

No pressure to pretend everything is fine.

Just people connecting with other people.

What You'll Find Inside

The Nest is still very new, but my hope is that it becomes a thriving community shaped by the people who join it.

Inside you'll find spaces for:

Special Interests

One of my favourite things about neurodivergent people is the enthusiasm we bring to the things we love.

Whether you've spent twenty years fascinated by trains, can tell us everything about a niche historical event, or have fallen down a rabbit hole about deep-sea creatures at three in the morning, you're welcome to share it.

In fact, we'd love you to. I find nothing more exciting than hearing passionate people speak on what they are passionate about.

Books, Films and TV

Recommendations, reviews, discussions and enthusiastic rambling about the stories that have captured your attention.

Support and Encouragement

Life isn't always easy.

The Support Corner exists for the days when you need a listening ear, some encouragement, a different perspective or simply a reminder that you're not alone.

Making Friends

Making friends as an adult can be difficult.

Making friends as a neurodivergent adult can sometimes feel even harder.

The Nest includes a dedicated space for connection, conversation and finding your people.

The Marketplace

This is the part I'm particularly excited about.

Neurodivergent people create incredible things.

Books. Artwork. Podcasts. Businesses. Courses. Crafts. Music. Writing. Photography. Products.

The Marketplace is a place for members to share what they've created and support one another's work.

I love the idea of a community where we don't just celebrate who people are, but also what they make.

What I Hope It Becomes

I don't have grand ambitions for The Neurodivergent Nest.

I don't need it to become the biggest community on the internet.

What I care about is whether people feel welcome when they arrive.

I care about whether someone logs in after a difficult day and finds a conversation that makes them smile.

I care about whether friendships form.

I care about whether people feel a little less alone.

I care about whether someone finally finds a space where they don't feel like the odd one out.

If The Neurodivergent Nest can become that for even a handful of people, then it will have achieved exactly what I hoped for.

I would love to start monthly group calls for support and sharing our special interests.

An Invitation

If you're neurodivergent, exploring your neurodivergence, or simply feel at home in neurodivergent spaces, you're very welcome.

Pull up a blanket.

Make yourself comfortable.

The kettle's on.

Welcome to The Neurodivergent Nest. 🪺
